  • When Lenny Kravitz posted an Instagram of himself building a deck, he received comments from many famous friends, including Channing Tatum and his daughter, Zoë Kravitz.

  • Both Tatum and Zoë seemed to be on a similar page: find a way for Lenny to star in a potential Magic Mike 3.

  • Earlier this year, Tatum signed on to appear in Zoë's directorial debut, an upcoming movie called Pussy Island.

It's been more than six years since Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to director Steven Soderbergh's 2012 hit stripper film Magic Mike, hit theaters. And since then there's been no real sign that a third movie in the series would be coming. But in case anyone starts changing their mind, a celebrity has already started doing a little bit of casting directing in her free time: Zoë Kravitz. And apparently she wants to see the cast include her famous and eternally cool rocker dad, Lenny Kravitz, included in the cast for any possible Magic Mike 3 stripper adventure.

This started simply enough. When Lenny posted an Instagram of himself building a deck—of course showing off his outrageously impressive six-pack abs at age 57—the comments section was the typical outflow of comments of adoration. "Wednesday. 2:55pm. Building a deck," he wrote in the post's caption.

And while a lot of different posts began flowing in from all sorts of famous friends—Alex Rodriguez shared a heart emoji, Naomi Campbell wrote "Lord have mercy brother," followed by four fire emojis and then a heart emoji—it was a post from Lenny's daughter that was the most eyebrow raising (and most likely just a fun joke, but let's play along for a minute).

"@channingtatum you auditioning for MM3?" Zoë wrote in her father's comments section. Lenny responded promptly: "@zoeisabellakravitz I’ve been ready!"

It didn't take long for Tatum himself to notice and then chime in. "Oh shit!! Doing the lords work i see!! Will be calling you shortly to get into your schedule my friend," he wrote. "Hehehe" Lenny again responded in his oh so cool and collected manner: "@channingtatum Peace my man."

So, yeah, most likely a joke. But you never know! Lenny is a cultural icon of coolness, and we know that Zoë, her dad, and her stepfather, Jason Momoa, all have a very cool relationship with one another. And it was also announced earlier this year that Tatum would be starring in Pussy Island, an upcoming thriller film that will serve as Zoë's directorial debut. So if there is another Magic Mike sequel in the works at any point in the future, Zoë is certainly tight with one of the people who can probably make some casting decisions come to life.

What do we always say with this kind of thing? Oh yeah, that's right: We shall see. And in this case, well, we shall see.
