The Two-Second Hack Zoë Kravitz Uses When She Gets a Breakout

The Big Little Lies star on acne.

Celebrities' skin aren't always as perfect as they appear — underneath the foundation, they're just real people who get zits like you and me. And according to Zoë Kravitz, celebs get just as bummed out about a breakout as the rest of us.

To celebrate her debut as the face of YSL Beauty's Black Opium fragrance, Kravitz sat down with Refinery29 and talked all things related to breakouts.

"I get bummed when my skin breaks out," the Big Little Lies star shared. "It really affects my mood and my confidence. Obviously, it happens to everyone and it's fine, but I really try to keep it under control. If I have a pimple and I know I have a shoot coming, I start to panic."

When a blemish appears, Kravitz says she reaches for the Hollywood favorite YSL Touche Éclat brightening concealer.

"Everything else is important, but the most important thing is for skin to look dewy and even," she says. "I like that it's really sheer. It's more about balancing things out and brightening things up, as opposed to actually covering. If you slept at someone's house and woke up in the morning, that's [the product] you'd want."

Of course, we'd recommend that she first cleanse her face and then apply a spot treatment — preferably one spiked with acne bacteria-killing benzoyl peroxide, like the Glossier Zit Stickbefore covering up the breakout with concealer, but we'll let it slide this one time.
