The Euphoria star attended the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party during New York Fashion Week on Friday, September 6, wearing the exact same textured charcoal gray Berluti suit that Michael wore to Vanity Fair’s Oscars party back in February, and their #Twinning moment has fans taking to Twitter (read: freaking out) to gauge just who wore it best. “Imagine outdoing Michael B Jordan,” one fan mused, before concluding: “Only zendaya could 😍.” It’s hard not to stan them both, to be quite honest.
Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, even posted both looks to his Instagram page to join the deliberation, asking followers “Who you got Z or B???? wearing @berluti.”
The social media consensus seems to be on Zendaya’s side, and it seems as though Michael would agree. As noted by the Instagram account Comments By Celebs, the Black Panther star weighed in on the debate when The Shade Room shared a side-by-side photo of the two stars, asking: "They both served looks but who did it best?" Michael didn't miss a beat, commenting: "Zendaya, hands down no contest." But we can’t deny that Michael also cut a handsome figure in that suit. What can we say? We’re obsessed with both of them.
There were some subtle differences to the two takes on this iconic outfit. Zendaya accessorized with a matching tie, sheer black tights, and black velvet Christian Louboutin pumps, according to ET Online, while Michael chose to forgo a tie, pairing his suit with patent leather dress shoes.
Zendaya has certainly been feeling the suits lately, having worn a ‘70s-inspired burgundy velvet suit from her Tommy x Zendaya collaboration to accept a Fashion Force award at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards earlier in the week, according to JustJared.
If these suiting moments are any indication, we can’t wait to see what other looks Z will pull out this New York Fashion Week. Like the actor herself, they’re sure to be nothing short of iconic.
