Zendaya Serves Up a Vintage Tennis-core Look That Cindy Crawford Wore in 1992

Zendaya continued her winning streak of tennis-core looks with her latest appearance on the “Challengers” press tour. The actress was joined by costars Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor and filmmaker Luca Guadagnino for a photo call in Milan on Sunday.

For the occasion, Zendaya fashioned a vintage Ralph Lauren white tennis dress with a collar. The sleeveless archival minidress made its runway debut as part of the spring 1992 ready-to-wear collection by the American fashion designer. It was originally modeled by Cindy Crawford.

The white minidress was evocative of the type of tennis wear often seen at Grand Slam tournaments such as Wimbledon, where the uniform of tennis whites is mandatory. Along with her bright white minidress, Zendaya coordinated the look with matching heels for a monochromatic finish.

As for her accessories, the “Euphoria” Emmy winner wore jewelry by Bulgari. Zendaya has been an ambassador for the jewelry brand since February 2020. She’s accessorized with Bulgari throughout her “Challengers” press tour. Zendaya’s look was curated by longtime collaborator and stylist Law Roach.

Zendaya’s “Challengers” looks have taken the tennis-core aesthetic and trend to a new, high-fashion level. Among some of her best tennis-inspired looks from the “Challengers” press tour, Zendaya has worn custom ensembles by Loewe, evocative of tennis kits, colors and more.

On a few occasions, however, Zendaya has opted for more ethereal sartorial statements. The actress previously fashioned another all-white ensemble for the premiere of “Challengers” in Rome. For the event, Zendaya wore a custom Calvin Klein dress that took inspiration from suited looks. The ensemble featured a bright white tailored blazer and a matching floor-length pencil skirt. As with her previous appearances associated with  “Challengers,” the actress accessorized with Bulgari jewelry.

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Luca Guadagnino directs “Challengers,” starring Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. The film centers on a twisted love triangle set against the backdrop of the competitive tennis world. The film hits theaters on April 26.
