Zendaya Said That She "Really" Doesn't Understand Tom Holland's British Slang: "It’s Cute When He Tells Me All The Different Phrases"
Zendaya gave a rare interview about life with Tom Holland in the UK.
The couple have been spotted in Tom's hometown of London in recent weeks, including holding hands at a grocery store and visiting a palace after hours.
"I love the British accent, but as much as Tom tries to explain it to me, I will never understand rhyming slang," Zendaya told The Sun. "Like I understand the concept — but what do apples and pears have to do with stairs?"
For any other Americans who are confused, Cockney rhyming slang is a type of slang from East London where you replace common words with rhymes (e.g. apples and pears = stairs).
"It’s cute when he tells me all the different phrases — but I really don’t get it!”
As for domestic life, she continued, “He is really good in the kitchen, which is fortunate as I am really accident-prone.“
"We learnt early on that only one of us could be in the kitchen at a time, we are both control freaks so we can’t be in there together," she added.
