Today may be Zayn Malik’s 23rd birthday—but it’s us who’re getting the real present.

The world’s finest ex-boy bander just landed his first cover of L’Uomo Vogue, in a spread photographed by Noted Fashion Photographer Ellen Von Unwerth and styled by Rushka Bergman.

Malik is actually one of several famous guys to land the L’Uomo Vogue ‘Big in 2016′ cover—Adam Driver and Ben Stiller are two others—but for all intents and purposes, he’s the only one who matters. In terms of… everything, really.

If more half-naked pics of Mr. Malik are truly what’ll be big in ‘16… we’ll take it. Plus, his cover shot looks like he was auditioning for The Bachelor at Demi Lovato’s “Cool For the Summer” album shoot. That’s never a bad thing.
