The FedEx Championship ended with a flourish Sunday, with three playoff holes in the first leg of the FedEx Playoffs. Will Zalatoris won the tournament, making his first PGA Tour win memorable. He vaunted to No. 12 in playoffs points.

The 25-year-old Californian outdueled Sepp Straka, winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship on a dramatic three-hole playoff Sunday to kick off the FedExCup Playoff, Jason Munz reports.

In other news, funeral arrangements are set later this month for David Pleasant, the Memphis firefighter driver who was fatally injured in a recent on-duty crash, Daniel Connolly reports.

Four firefighters were injured late Wednesday night after a crash in South Memphis as they responded to a call, the fire department has said. Pleasant, a longtime firefighter, did not survive his injuries. He was 59.

The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 22 at Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Road in Memphis, according to a published obituary.

Granderson and co-owners Joe Johnson, Devin Butler and Robert Higgins have designed a restaurant they say is a modern-day twist on a traditional supper club from the 1960s and 1970s.
