Zac Efron's new 'serious relationship' revealed after reported split from Sarah Bro

Zac Efron and his girlfriend of less than a year, Sarah Bro, have broken up — and the High School Musical actor has already moved on!

Us Weekly reports that Efron, 32, and the Olympic swimmer's "relationship just wasn't working out."

"She came back to L.A., and it never got going again," the outlet's source added.

While it's unclear exactly when Efron and Bro parted ways, another insider told Us that Efron is now "in a serious relationship" with actress Halston Sage, 26. The couple is apparently "in love" and "spent the holidays together, with part of that time in Santa Barbara."

The pair was first romantically linked back in 2014, the same year that they co-starred in the hit comedy, Neighbors.

Sage has appeared in TV shows such as The Orville and Prodigal Son, as well as films like X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Paper Towns.

News of Efron's secret new romance comes just about a month after he experienced a reportedly life-threatening health scare while filming his upcoming new show, Killing Zac Efron, just before Christmas.

"Very thankful to everyone who has reached out," he wrote on Instagram. "I did get sick in Papua New Guinea but I bounced back quick and finished an amazing 3 weeks in P.N.G. I’m home for the holidays with my friends and family. Thanks for all the love and concern, see you in 2020!"

Before dating Bro and Halston, Efron had been linked to Lily Collins, Michelle Rodriguez, Alexandra Daddario and Vanessa Hudgens — his High School Musical co-star who he dated for five years until 2010.
