Zac Efron Will Return to Disney for 'Three Men and a Baby' Remake

From ELLE

Zac Efron is going to be a daddy (kind of). The actor has been tapped to star in Disney's remake of Three Men and a Baby, the '80s comedy following a trio of NYC bachelors whose love lives get turned upside down when they find a baby on their doorstep and take her in.

The 1987 film—adapted from the French picture Trois hommes et un couffin—starred Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenberg. As of right now, it's unclear who will join Efron in the starring trio.

The remake, which doesn't have a release date or director yet, is headed for the studio's streaming platform, Disney+. (Fans can actually stream the original flick on the site right now.) Gordon Gray, who's been behind uplifting sports films including Miracle, Secretariat, The Rookie, and Invincible, is producing.

As The Hollywood Reporter points out, this marks a return to Disney for Efron, who made his big break through the studio's High School Musical trilogy starting in 2006. The news of the 32-year-old star's Three Men casting arrives on the heels of his new Netflix series, Down to Earth. The show, which premiered in July, follows the actor as he travels around the world learning about innovative practices for sustainable, healthy living.
