Zac Efron Has Reportedly Broken Up With Vanessa Valladares After 10 Months of Dating

Zac Efron may be starting his summer single, at least according to The Daily Telegraph and Page Six. The Aussie outlet reported that the American actor ended his relationship with his Australian model girlfriend Vanessa Valladares after 10 months of dating. Page Six reported the news too, adding that they reached out to Efron's publicist, who declined to comment on the report. The Telegraph did not give a reason for the split.
The news comes just weeks before Efron is due to fly to Canada to begin filming the Stephen King movie Firestarter in May. A source told Daily Mail in March that Efron was believed to be taking Valladares with him during the eight-week shoot. No longer, apparently.
But there is a chance Efron and Valladares aren't fully done, given their history. In November, The Sun, a British tabloid, falsely reported the two broke up. Its source claimed, “Friends hope they can reunite, but it seems their relationship was more like a holiday romance than they cared to admit.” One week after, its reporting was proven wrong. Efron and Valladares were seen out together in December, confirming their relationship was still on at the time.
Valladares and Efron began dating last summer. It was a real rom com story: She was a waitress he met at the Byron Bay General Store in June 2020; they fell in love, and she reportedly quit her job so she could travel with him. By October 2020, Valladares and Efron were living together. They were last photographed side-by-side at the end of March.
At the beginning of April, E! was given an update on their relationship by a source. Things were seemingly going well then: The source said, Efron is “very happy being with Vanessa and living in Australia. It's changed his life for the better.”
The source also specified when exactly their romance started: “They started dating in July and have been together since. They love to travel locally and are very adventurous. They love skiing, surfing and hanging out with both his and her friends. They spend a lot of time outdoors just chilling. She quit her job so she can have the flexibility to travel with him. They are on the same page with that and it's working out for them.”
