Zac Efron Is “Relieved” About Vanessa Valladares Breakup and Didn’t Want to Pay for Her House, Uh, Apparently

So, Zac Efron just split from his girlfriend Vanessa Valladares, and if you’re wondering why, it seems to partially be because the timing of his new movie meant he’d have to pay for their shared house in Australia? And he wasn’t down for that? At least, that’s the impression a source close to the star is giving, ahem.

Speaking to Us Weekly, said source explained that “Zac is about to start a busy year of filming and wanted to make a clean break now,” adding that the couple were living together near Byron Bay in a place Zac was paying for. Apparently, Zac is about to leave Australia for Canada to work on Firestarter with Anne Hathaway for a full two months, leaving Vanessa in the home by herself, which, um, “wasn’t going to work for him.”

Vanessa wouldn’t be able to travel with Zac due to COVID-19 restrictions, and he is “secretly relieved about this turn of events as he feels she would be a distraction to him during the filming of the intense drama.” The source adds that Zac “was getting in too deep and spending too much time” with Vanessa and “he felt it was best to end this now.”

Like…okay, Zac!!!!!!!!!

Just as a quick reminder, Zac and Vanessa started dating last June and things moved super fast. TBD on exactly when they split, but Zac’s friend Kyle Sandilands said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, “I can also confirm after speaking with him yesterday. It’s only recent, but not, like, yesterday recent. But they’ve gone their separate ways.”
