'You're Not Going Swimming in Here': Father's Advice Proves Timely as Sharks Arrive by Boat

A father fishing with his two sons in Moreton Bay, Brisbane, had just warned them not to swim in the water, and his advice proved pretty timely, with the arrival soon after of a couple of large bull sharks.

Sean Thompson and his sons had made their catch, and were inspecting crab pots near Green Island when the bull sharks appeared. Thompson started recording, and posted the video to his Instagram page.

Speaking to Storyful, Thompson said, “It is fair to say the boys weren’t so keen on a swim after that. We decided it was time to get out of there and as I gathered our things to move off the boys even claimed that one of the sharks nudged the boat.”

He added, “The boys certainly learnt a lesson out there. We are in these magnificent creatures’ domain and it’s best we stay in the boat out there.” Credit: @ontourfishingaustralia via Storyful
