The holiday season is upon us and during this hectic time of year, we could all use a little centering. Thank goodness, then, for Danielle Ayoka, who is here to set you right in this season of gift giving, eating, and stressing. Ayoka, whose tweets doling out zodiac-centered relationship advice with a generous helping of tough love, has 52,000 followers on the social media platform. And none of them mind getting read for filth. Ayoka guides her followers through love, life, moon rituals, energy healings, and now, the holidays.

We chatted with the Twitter famous astrologist for some straight talk on how to make it through the holidays without going completely insane – or falling out with friends and loved ones.

Aries tend to have short tempers, so Ayoka says it’s extremely important this holiday season to keep that in check. “Watch out for the road rage, guys. Everyone is going to be crazy during the holidays. Have some patience. Plans are still being made,” she told us over the phone. “I know you want to get everything done right now, everything has to be in your timing. Try to extend a little compassion, there is a lot of crap going on and you don’t want to start any unnecessary arguments or walk around being irritated when you don’t have to be. Take a breath, know that everything is going to come together right on time, and nothing’s going to be late or out of place.”

Taurus

Ayoka’s special message to Taurus? If you are watching your diet, this season will come with a lot of temptation. Stay true to your goals, even though that extra piece of pie might look like bae. “Try not to overeat,” she said. “You’ve been working so hard on that diet. Just relax, don’t over indulge. You know you’re going to want to fit those pants at the beginning of they year so it’ll just make your resolutions harder. Taurus, just try to keep your cool. Keep that patience that you’re known for having. Don’t try to over-plan or micro-manage everything. We know you know what you’re doing, just put a little bit of faith in other people as well.”

Gemini

Gemini should be careful not to make too many enemies—or strangers—of friends this season. “Don’t break your connections up before the holiday. You want presents this year. You’ve got to stay consistent with people. Don’t allow circumstances to get too scattered to where you’re losing touch with everyone. Make time for those you love, or you’re not going to get anything but a cable bill this year.”

Cancer

It’s important for Cancer to check themselves and not let their sensitive nature cause discord amongst friends and loved ones. “We know you have a lot of feelings. Try to process them, don’t go lashing out at everyone around you because you’re feeling a little stressed.” Ayoka also encourages Cancer to take some time for self-care. “You love taking care of everyone, but make sure you get in that ‘me’ time to take care of yourself as well. Don’t be cranky – you don’t want to make dinner awkward for your family.”

Leo

Leo needs to be more patient with people and less concerned with getting their way. “You’re generous, and you’re focused. Don’t go breaking connections because people don’t give you exactly what you want,” she dished. “People are not always going to be able to give you exactly what you need exactly when you want it, exactly how you want it. Look, everybody has a lot going on. This is the holiday season. If your partners or your friends don’t give you as much attention as you want right now, try not to take it personally. Just know they’re going to make it up to you when you open that present that you’ve been subtly-not-so-subtly throwing hints about the whole year. Just be patient! And try not to throw too big of a fit when you’re not getting the quality time you need right now.”

Virgo

The most important thing Virgo can do is let go. “You love to be in control. You like to make sure everything is running smoothly. Allow people to help you. You don’t have to do everything yourself right now. You don’t have to make sure that nobody screws up the holidays. Give people the menial tasks that will let you have a few minutes to yourself just to sit down, have a glass of wine or watch your favorite movie. Send someone to the store to do the small stuff. You’re more than capable of handling the larger tasks. We know that’s your job. We know that’s why you’re here and that’s how you show you care. In the midst of all that, take a breath, or we’re all going to die from the incessant nagging that you call helping.”

Libra

Libra’s main focus this season should be keeping the scales balanced. What happens when Libra gets out of whack? “You go a little crazy, you get a little argumentative, you get a little dictatorial,” Ayoka said. “Nobody needs your criticism this time of year. Everyone is trying their best. We know that you’re going to get everybody the best gifts. Trust your decisions, know everything is going to work out fine. You don’t have to overthink this! You know exactly what everybody is expecting from you because you read people that well.” She also encourages Libra to be more vocal about their feelings. “If somebody pisses you off, just say it. If somebody bothers you, let them know. Because what’s going to happen is that scale is going to tip, and you’re going to have an unnecessary argument right before we open presents—and that’s not what we need because someone may be recording this year!”

Scorpio

Scorpio has a hard time trusting other people, and Ayoka says that now is a great time to open up. “Put your trust issues to the side for a second. We know that you don’t like letting people in. Share your feelings with somebody. We also know that intimacy is the thing you love and want the most! You don’t necessarily give a crap about gifts, you just want people to care about you. Let those people in so you can have a warm holiday this year, instead of looking at everyone and how much you’re justified in thinking they’re untrustworthy. If you don’t open up, you won’t know who to trust.”

Sagittarius

The holidays may be a whirlwind, but it’s important for Sagittarius to fight against that and stay focused. “You’re always all over the place and scattered, planning your future five years ahead. Take a minute, look up, see what’s going on around you, make sure that the people you are closest to know that they’re cared about. Take your head out of the clouds for a minute, Sagittarius, stop beating yourself up and being so hard on yourself. Be in the moment, don’t overthink your gift choices, or else you’ll end up last minute at Walmart again, buying everybody something off clearance.”

Capricorn

Capricorn needs to know that they probably have it all together when it comes to gifting and planning, so it’s important to avoid stressing out. “You don’t have anything to worry about Capricorn! We know you’ve got it all under control when it comes to everything you’re going to do for the holidays. Stop stressing yourself out because at this point, you’re being pessimistic.” Her advice? “Take a breath, have some fun, go to a Christmas party and let your hair down a little bit.”

Aquarius

The holidays are a good time for Aquarius to defy their serious nature and try having a bit of lighthearted fun. “Enjoy the time that you have with your family. You have a lot of things to do, take a minute to enjoy the holidays. Emotionally connect with people, Aquarius! Share some laughs! You don’t always have to be so smart and serious and disconnected to have fun,” Ayoka explained. “Loosen up a bit, I promise you will have a great time whether you intellectualize the conversation or not.”

Pisces

It’s time for Pisces to buck up, overcome feelings of victimhood, and be more vocal and proactive about their feelings as opposed to feeling sorry for themselves. “We know that people have screwed you over all year and you never get what you deserve,” Ayoka said. “This time, don’t just complain about it – speak up and say what’s on your mind! Find forgiveness for the people you’re pissed off at. Make sure that you remember all of the good things that have happened and the great parts of your relationships. You can have a great holiday – only if you choose to. Don’t get your head too caught up in what you fantasize things to be like. Learn how to give a little. Learn how to compromise a bit when it comes to what you consider a good time.”
