Netflix fans, listen up: a new season of Young Royals is officially on the way!

The Swedish series follows Prince Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) as he enrols at prestigious boarding school Hillerska. However, everything changes for the teen prince when he unexpectedly becomes next in line to the throne. Fans were *obsessed* with Young Royals season one, and particularly Wilhelm's relationship with fellow student Simon Eriksson (Omar Rudberg). So, of course, we were collectively thrilled to find out Young Royals is returning for a second series.

Is there a trailer for Young Royals season 2?

Netflix has finally shared the full trailer for Young Royals S2, with just two weeks to go until the series is released!

The trailer kicks off at the start of a brand new school year at Hillerska as we delve back into Wilhelm and Simon's relationship. But where will things end up for these two? We need more ASAP!

Prior to the full trailer, Netflix also dropped the *entire* first four minutes of season two. So much to take in!

What's more, back in June Netflix shared a set of first-look stills from the second series, writing, "Friendship, secrets, revenge, and a threat to the monarchy. Here's your first look at Young Royals Season 2!" Exciting!

When was Young Royals season 2 announced?

Young Royals season two was confirmed all the way back in September 2021, two months after the first series aired in July of the same year.

Then, in February 2022, the streamer announced that filming for season two had officially begun, sharing a sweet video of the cast on set, writing, "Our Young Royals are back!"

Who will star in Young Royals season 2?

Of course, Young Royals wouldn't be Young Royals without the relationship between Wilhelm and Simon. Luckily, the S2 first-look clip and photos have confirmed that actors Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg will indeed be returning to the two lead roles.

Elsewhere, we'd expect other main cast members to come back for season two, including Malte Gårdinger as August of Årnäs, Frida Argenton as Sara Eriksson, and Nikita Uggla as FElice Ehrencrona.

Is there a Young Royals season 2 release date?

There's not long to wait. At. All. Young Royals season two is coming to Netflix on 1 November. The streaming platform confirmed the update on Twitter at the end of September, and it's all very exciting indeed.
