Young Photos of Sofia Coppola
Sofia Carmina Coppola holds a multitude of titles, including director, screenwriter, photographer, producer, former actress, and designer, among other things. Born in New York City on May 14, 1971, filmmaking inherently runs through Coppola's blood. Her mother Eleanor was a documentarian, while her father was director Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola grew up on her family's farm in Rutherford, CA before attending the California Institute of Arts concentrating on photography and fashion design. Coppola's eye for '90s style sparked her entrance into the fashion world with her clothing line Milk Fed, befriending a few fashion legends along the way. Though Coppola began acting as an infant in her father's films, she had her eyes on the opposite side of the lens. Her directorial debut was in 1999 with The Virgin Suicides followed by her 2003 film Lost in Translation, the latter earning her an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. A true jack-of-all-trades, CR honors Coppola on her birthday as a symbol of '90s style and as a pillar of film and fashion.
