From face creams to botox to intense health regimens, people seem to be doing everything to fight the effects of aging. Due to a combination of today’s advanced technologies, alternative medical treatments and the pressure of fitting into beauty standards, many turn to cosmetic or surgical procedures. Some celebrities - being the public figures that they are - change their appearances as much as the seasons. And with so many eyeballs on them, some are open about it, while others try to keep it under the radar. Whether you’re all for going under the knife or not, the pondering questions and speculations come with the territory. It’s common for fans to constantly wonder if their favorite stars have had plastic surgery. However, in an industry where getting a nip here and a tuck there is so common, it’s sometimes more bewildering to hear about the stars that lean into their aging. Embracing their natural looks, here are the icons that have never come near an operating table.
Eva Longoria
In March 2022, Eva Longoria graciously celebrated her 47th birthday. Although many adults are fearful of turning another year older, the actress only holds a positive POV when it comes to the aging process. “I associate aging with wisdom and experience and maturity,” Longoria tells Prevention in an interview. “Everything that happens with aging is happening to me. And I’m like, ‘Ok, here we go.’ I associate it with positive attributes—not so much, ‘Here’s the beginning of the end.’”
Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale has been fed up with the public assuming she’s had work done for years (rightfully so!). “I’m not against people having it,” Beckinsale told The Times in an interview. “[But] I do get pissed off. It’s sort of a given that I’ve had it, which I just literally haven’t.” She continues on to explain that she’s frightened about the effects that it could have on her face and that her mother wouldn’t approve. The English actress credits her young looks to genetics and professional skin care treatments, such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma).
Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker is another advocate of keeping it real. The And Just Like That star is tired of everyone calling her “brave” as she lets her natural gray hairs come through. Although her character Carrie Bradshaw in the reboot of Sex in the City contemplated getting “work” done, the actress could simply care less. “How best to feel like yourself is the thing I’ve probably spent more time thinking about than I have beauty or aging, because there’s just simply not a lot I can do about it,” Parker told Bustle. “I could do more, but I guess I don’t want to.”
Halle Berry
With being a successful actress in Hollywood for quite some time, Halle Berry has certainly felt the pressures of going under the knife. Enticed by her peers and the ability to refrain from it is just too refreshing! “It’s almost like crack that people are trying to push on you,” she told Yahoo Beauty. “When you see everybody around you doing it, you have those moments when you think, ‘To stay alive in this business, do I need to do the same thing? I won’t lie and tell you that those things don’t cross my mind because somebody is always suggesting it to me’”.
Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore recently sat down with Jamie Lee Curtis for a segment on The Drew Barrymore Show, where the two dished about their thoughts on aging. “I don’t want to fight nature,” Barrymore said. “I’m raising two daughters, and we were raised in an industry where it was desired to drink off the fountain of youth, and I just never subscribed to it.” The talk show host continued to speak her truth on how “aging is safe and awesome.”
Gigi Hadid
Even at the age of 27, Gigi Hadid is constantly shutting down the plastic surgery rumors. The supermodel explains that her looks certainly have evolved, but all due to the power of makeup. Constantly in the spotlight and runway, she’s learned from makeup experts how to properly contour and best structure her face. "No, for those wondering, I've never injected anything into my face,” Hadid shared in a Beauty Secrets video for Vogue. “I am so happy for everyone to do whatever they want that makes them happy and makes them feel more comfortable and good about themselves. Me personally, it terrifies me. I feel I'm too much of a control freak. I'm like, 'What if it goes wrong?"
Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek is another victim of the plastic surgery rumors, but has previously told Instyle that she’s afraid of needles. And in 2020, the Mexican-American actress told Dujour she didn’t “believe in Botox because your face doesn’t move, and it’s something you have to do for the rest of your life, more and more every time.” Hayek continues on to explain that she doesn’t “look at things short term”, but more so thinks of “longevity.”
Brooke Shields
In 2019, Brooke Shields got very candid when asked about injectables and plastic surgery on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “Okay, so I’m afraid of it, but I also want to do everything I can to just look my best and feel my best,” Shields admitted. The now 57-year-old revealed that she turns to non-invasive body contouring treatments (such as WarmSculpting), working out and staying healthy as her anti-aging secret.
Pink
Pink is known for her eccentricity and has always played by her own rules. In 2020, the “So What” singer opened up about how she can’t get behind going under the knife or altering your appearance in a “letter to self” series of tweets. “I’m fortunate because I’ve never really depended on my looks,” Pink shared. “I’ve decided that my talent and my individuality is far more important than my face.”
Kate Winslet
In 2011, Kate Winslet told The Telegraph that she would “never give in” to plastic surgery. “It goes against my morals, the way my parents brought me up and what I consider to be a natural beauty,” she said. After Winslet rejected two of HBO’s Mare of Easttown’s promotional posters because they were “too retouched”, we know she means business. The Oscar winning-actress stays fresh by prioritizing her sleep and health!
Kristen Stewart
When asked in 2015 about plastic surgery, Kristen Stewart said she would never do it. “I am so freaked out by the idea of doing anything. And maybe that's completely arrogant but I don't want to change anything about myself. I think the women who do are losing their minds. It's vandalism."

It’s just remarkable that Meryl Streep has become a Hollywood legend without having to alter her appearance. In 2008, The Devil Wears Prada star touched on plastic surgery within the industry with Good Housekeeping. "It's not just women," Streep says. "You'd be amazed at how many men in this industry have gone down that road. I just don't get it. You have to embrace getting older. Life is precious, and when you've lost a lot of people, you realize each day is a gift."

Julia Roberts has admitted to getting botox in the past, which to many, does not qualify as an intensive procedure like plastic surgery. Although Roberts was not a fan of her botox experience, she once believed that not getting a facelift was a risk for her career."It's unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don't even give themselves a chance to see what they'll look like as older persons”, Roberts told ELLE in an interview. “I want to have some idea of what I'll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I'm pissed, when I'm happy, and when I'm confounded. Your face tells a story... and it shouldn't be a story about your drive to the doctor's office."
