You Won’t Believe What Material These Wedding Gowns Are Made From

You’ll never look at tissue paper the same after you see how designer Zhong Feng has transformed the humble gift-wrapping staple. The designer showed off a few stunning creations at a science and technology conference in Beijing, sending models down the runway in elaborate wedding dresses crafted from tissue paper. The normally delicate paper had been given a upgrade thanks to new technology that keeps it from ripping easily.

CCTV News mentions the material’s strength, noting that “testers placed the high-tech paper towel in a dripping device, where 150 drops of liquid were applied, before six coins were placed on top of it. Amazingly, the paper towel did not break.”

One of Feng’s dresses was given an extra boost with the inclusion of LEDs, which created a dazzling light show — as if the look wasn’t already a sight to behold.
