Yes, Burger King’s Black Whopper Turns Your Poop Green
You’ve heard the rumors that the Halloween-themed Black Whopper from Burger King has been turning people’s poop green. Now, BuzzFeed does their own reporting on the topic.
The website asked people to try the Black Whopper for the first time and reveal what happened to their stool afterwards. All confirmed that their waste turned various shades of green, from “highlighter green,” to “an olive green, bordering on emerald.”
Burger King said its Black Whopper’s bun has been flavored with A-1 steak sauce to give it its ghoulish color. But it’s also been dyed with several artificial flavors, and the high concentration of food coloring which clearly has some unexpected side effects.
It’s not harmful, says nutritionists, but it can be startling to an unsuspecting burger lover. Luckily, BuzzFeed’s adventurous subjects took the Black Whopper aftereffects in stride. “Part of being young and having fun is eating things and see what they do to your poop,” said one.
