Yelp Users Rank the Best B&Bs in America
The term Bed & Breakfast deserves a bit of a rebrand.
Today’s B&Bs are nothing like the ones you used to visit with your parents, or your grandparents for that matter. These adorable accommodations are luxurious, modern, and totally unique.
But finding a great B&B can be a lot of work. Thankfully Yelp has done some of that work for us. These are the most popular B&Bs ranked by users of the site.
10. Carpe Diem Guesthouse (Provincetown, MA)
On the tip of Cape Cod, Pronvincetown is a popular coastal resort area, especially in the summer. And the Carpe Diem Guesthouse, right in the center of town, is one of its most well-loved inns.

All of Carpe Diem’s rooms are named after famous writers and some even come with jacuzzis or fireplaces. After the evening cheese and wine hour, you can hang out in the courtyard or rest up for the massive breakfast in the morning.

9. Chelsea Station Inn B&B (Seattle, WA)
Across from the Woodland Rose Garden and right near the zoo, the Chelsea Station Inn B&B is a small and luxurious bed and breakfast in northern Seattle. There are just four massive suites, each with their own living room, kitchen, and double walk-in rain shower.

If you manage to make it out of that room, then spend some time enjoying the patio, outdoor fire pit, and hot tub. It’s all designed to make you feel right home — if your home happened to be a 1920s manor. Just enter the code you receive before your arrival to get in the front door, be greeted with an envelope with your name on it, and grab some snacks from the stocked pantry.
8. Berry Manor Inn (Rockland, ME)
Once the home of one of Rockland’s most well-known and richest merchants, Berry Manor Inn is now one of the town’s premier B&Bs, especially for couples looking for a romantic coastal Maine getaway.
The 12 rooms are all very stately and very Victorian, but with the modern amenities and technology you’d expect in a proper hotel. Plus, you’ll want a piece of the inn’s famous pie — available any hour of the day and night in the guest pantry. Room rates are also very reasonable during the off-season — which, fortunately for you, is right now.
7. The Mermaid and the Alligator (Key West, FL)
At the very end of the Florida Keys, Key West is a small island just 90 miles from Cuba. The vibe here is decidedly beachy and laid-back. Thankfully that doesn’t mean that you need to miss out on all the luxury. When the Mermaid and the Alligator was originally built in 1904 it was the grandest house in Key West. Enjoy your free breakfast by the pool or take a nap in the garden’s hammock before you walk the couple blocks to the popular Duval Street.

6. The Woodstocker Inn (Woodstock, VT)
While you’re taking a refreshing break from life and breathing in the natural scenery, stay in this bright yellow house near the river. The Woodstocker is funky — but what would you expect — and yet modern. All the rooms have been renovated, some with a very adult sensibility. Since the owners are from the UK, breakfast tends to have a European flair. You can also request an afternoon tea service while you sit in the well-stocked library.
5. 11th Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast (Seattle, WA)
About one mile from downtown and just a few blocks from Pike Street, in the popular residential Capitol Hill neighborhood, the 11th Avenue Inn is a classic bed and breakfast. Most of the rooms are decked out with antique furniture and Oriental rugs.

The nine rooms are all well-equipped. And a large breakfast is served in the dining room each morning. (There are also two rooms behind the main building — in the barn and in a bunker — that don’t come with the inn experience or breakfast, but do sleep two people each.)
Kimber Modern is, as the name might suggest, very modern. The small boutique hotel has been designed with cutting-edge architecture and technology. There isn’t even a check-in desk — just set your own code for the front door and for your room when you make the reservation.

Hang out in the bright and well-furnished common area, where you can snack on food from the pantry or enjoy happy hour. The real kicker, though, is the location. Walk over to South Congress Avenue or head up to the nearby Lady Bird Lake for a paddle or a jog.

3. Olea Hotel (Glen Ellen, CA)
You don’t exactly head to the Olea Hotel because it’s close to things; you go there because of how removed it is. Located on the side of a hill outside Sonoma, overlooking gorgeous vineyards, this picturesque property is ideal for a relaxing weekend.

There are eight finely appointed rooms in the main building and additional cottages in the garden area. Downstairs in the main building, you can enjoy a full gourmet breakfast or complimentary wine from a local winery. Take a dip in the hot tub or get a massage to further relax, or just sit on the porch and watch the sun set over the hills.
2. The Inn on First (Napa, CA)
Popular as both a wedding venue and a honeymoon spot, the Inn on First is right in the heart of Napa. If you’re not too busy hitting up all the Napa wineries and restaurants, then eat your way through the Inn’s epic and tasty breakfast, and sip some complimentary wine in the evenings. But the real reason this has been voted one of the best inns in America is because of the customer service. The staff will help you book everything from a massage at the spa to a wine tour or even a hot air balloon ride.
1. Inn on Randolph (Napa, CA)
Originally an estate built in the 1800s, at one point the Inn on Randolph served as a women’s health center where babies were delivered by midwives in the downstairs of the main building. In 2012, all the rooms were entirely renovated and remodeled — preserving the original historic feel, but with all new amenities. The entire property rests on an acre, allowing guests to walk through the gardens and along the stone paths. You’ll need to rest after their truly epic breakfast, made mostly from locally sourced ingredients.
