Okay, Yellowstone fans. How are we feeling after that mid-season 5 finale? Were you content? Surprised? Left wanting more? Don't be shy... let us know!

There's already a lot that went down in the first eight episodes of the season thus far. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and the rest of our favorite Yellowstone cast members were busy curating a complex storyline (to say the least). And knowing showrunner Taylor Sheridan, we can certainly expect more of the same for the rest of season 5.

But just when we thought the drama was building, Paramount announced that the show would be going on a bit of a hiatus after the mid-season finale, which aired on January 1. This means we'll have to wait to see how things will unfold. Like, if Kayce will succeed in taking over the family ranch in Rip's absence, the continuous battle between Jamie and John, and how Beth will navigate her newfound knowledge of some family secrets.

But exactly how long will we need to wait? Read on for all the details we know about Yellowstone season 5, including updates about when the series will return, cast news, spoilers, and more.

When will Yellowstone season 5 return?

Those who tuned in to the mid-season finale on Sunday saw that the neo-Western series will make its return with new episodes in summer 2023.

Paramount released a short teaser-clip to let us know what's to come, and how we'll be able to hold ourselves over until then.

When did Yellowstone season 5 first premiere?

Yellowstone season 5 kicked off with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, November 13.

Was there a trailer for Yellowstone season 5?

Yup! The trailer began with John swearing-in as governor, showing us that his campaign efforts in season 4 paid off. We were given glimpses of the feuds and rivalry for this season. For starters, we saw John's plans to fire most of the governor’s staff and hire his daughter, Beth, as his new chief of staff.

"Signing this order is a declaration of war," Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) tells his father, who then responds, "We're already at war."

As the trailer came to a close, an ominous message flashes onscreen: "Power has a price."

The new trailer came weeks after Paramount Network released a short but promising teaser showing an intense scene involving John and Beth, accompanied by bone-chilling music and a promise that "all will be revealed" in season 5.

In the teaser, we also hear John say, "We’ll show the world who we are and what we do."

Did the original Yellowstone cast return?

Before season 5 premiered, Cole Hauser—known to fans as Rip Wheeler—dropped a few major hints about the show. In an interview last year with HALL Wines, Cole revealed details about who's going to be part of the upcoming season.

"For us as actors—and I think I can speak for everybody, even including Kevin, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham—you know, everybody is a part of it," he said. "We come together. This is now going into our fifth year, so we come together as a family.
