'Yellowstone' Star Cole Hauser Just Dropped a Major Hint About the Future of the Show

·2 min read

While Yellowstone fans are busy waiting for season 4 to premiere, the cast and crew have quietly begun working on season 5.

One of the show's biggest stars just dropped a few major hints about the not-yet-confirmed fifth season which, of course, is all the confirmation we needed that it's happening. In an interview with HALL Wines, Cole Hauser—known to fans as Rip Wheeler—revealed details about when Yellowstone season 5 will begin filming, who's going to be in it, and more. Given that fans still have no idea what happens in season 4, this is a pretty big deal!

First, Cole explained that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is working on the script "right now," and predicts that they'll resume production "sometime in July."

"I'm looking forward to getting back to Montana," he said. "Season five is going to be wonderful."

Then, the actor teased fans about what they have to look forward to in the upcoming fourth season.

"The way we ended season 4—I can't give too much away, but the way season four ends, I think the audience. . .will be happily surprised with a lot of things," Cole said.

But let's get back to season 5 for a moment, shall we? When discussing the gorgeous setting where Yellowstone is filmed, Cole name-dropped a few of his fellow co-stars.

"For us as actors—and I think I can speak for everybody, even including Kevin, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham—you know, everybody is a part of it," he said. "We come together. This is now going into our fifth year, so we come together as a family."

So, not only does Cole confirm that season 5 is happening, but he also seems to suggest that all of those Yellowstone cast members will be part of it. We might be getting ahead of ourselves here, but...does that mean none of our favorite characters are going to die?!

The actor finally said he "can't talk a lot about season 4," so we'll have to wait until it premieres in November to actually find out what happens. (Ugh.)

But, hey—at least now we know season is 5 is in the works!
