'Yellowstone' Fans Are Getting Seriously Testy About the Start of Season 4

Yellowstone fans are really craving an update on season 4.

Despite Paramount renewing Yellowstone for a fourth season before season 3 even began last summer, the network has not yet announced a start date for season 4. While each new season of Yellowstone has typically started in late June, that date passed without any acknowledgement or update from the network.

Not surprisingly, all of this uncertainty surrounding the upcoming season is making fans a little testy. Nowhere is this more evident than on social media. Go to Yellowstone's Instagram page and on nearly every post there are fans in the comments section begging for answers about the release of season 4.

So really, when does Yellowstone season 4 start?

On July 1, Paramount finally broke its silence and gave fans a season 4 trailer to watch. In the teaser, which features old clips from season 3, it was announced that Yellowstone will return sometime this fall, though we still don't have a set date.

According to Deadline, Paramount is looking at an early November start date so that Yellowstone can be cross promoted on other CBS broadcasts, including NFL football. But to be clear, Paramount has not confirmed this to be the case.

Throughout the summer, there are have been varying theories as to why Yellowstone season 4 is getting released so late this year. One theory was that Yellowstone encountered production delays stemming from the coronavirus pandemic, like so many other shows have over the past year. That said, Instagram posts from the cast indicated that filming season 4 wrapped up way back in November of 2020, which makes this theory a little less likely.

Regardless of when Yellowstone season 4 comes out though, we know for sure that it'll be worth the wait — with this show, it always is.
