While Paramount Network continues to stay silent about Yellowstone season 4, actor Brecken Merrill is speaking out.

The child star, who plays Tate Dutton, took to Instagram last Sunday to address the fan anticipation surrounding the release of the new season. As viewers are well aware, Paramount Network has neither shared a trailer for the new season nor a set release date. Given that the show has typically come out near Father's Day every year, the silent treatment from Paramount is starting to lead to a lot of confusion and frustration.

Knowing how excited fans are for season 4, Brecken shared a special message with viewers alongside two throwback photos of himself taking a horseback riding lesson.

"It’s Sunday, and I know we’re all wanting #yellowstoneseason4. I can’t tell ya when it will start, but I can give you a little something to tide you over," he explained in the caption. "Every Sunday until season 4 premieres I will post a #bts photo from our @yellowstone adventures over the years. This is one of my first riding lessons back before we started shooting season 1. @forriejsmithcowboy was running around the arena living his best life! Look at that smile 😁."

After seeing the pictures, fans posted kind messages and thanked Brecken for the update and his pledge to share behind-the-scenes shots. "Thanks for sharing. The pics are awesome!!" one fan said. "Love it!! 🤠," another said.

Brecken isn't the only Yellowstone cast member who has addressed the season 4 delay. On an Instagram post from Yellowstone's official page, actor Jefferson White, a.k.a. Jimmy Hurdstrom, took to the comments section and wrote, "Appreciate y'all!! Season 4 is worth the wait, I promise!!" Not surprisingly, Jefferson's comment was met with a chorus of fans asking for more concrete season 4 details.

Sad to say, we really don't know when Yellowstone season 4 will come out, though we've heard lots of theories about why it might be delayed. We've heard everything from producers wanting to reshoot a few scenes, to reports that the cast isn't quite finished shooting yet. We've also heard a theory that Paramount is trying to hold off until after the Tokyo Summer Olympics, which run from July 23 to August 8.

But until we hear from Paramount directly, we can only assume that all of the above is simply internet gossip and speculation. Hopefully, really, really soon we'll get some answers.
