Each year, the design of the greenroom at the Oscars is thoughtfully curated and executed, courtesy of Rolex. The powerhouse timepiece brand has had its watches featured in iconic films and worn by larger-than-life movie stars (and Oscar winners). Rolex's partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and its Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative also help fuel the brand's commitment to the art of cinema, and the greenroom is an exciting way for Rolex to contribute directly to the production of one of the most-watched awards shows of the season.

The greenroom is the place where presenters and winners converge before and after being on stage. This year, an emerald green hue is the star of the show as a way to celebrate the earth and its ecosystems—and Rolex's commitment to preservation and conservation. Its Perpetual Planet Initiative was created in 2019 to further Rolex's commitment to exploration and discovery (a long-standing pillar for the brand) and also support individuals and organizations that are studying environmental changes in order to produce solutions that will benefit our planet. This initiative was started with partners Blue Missions and the National Geographic Society and now includes more than 20 partners.

In this year's greenroom, beaded-like screens made of natural materials adorn the walls, while a canopy of tropical leaves create a lush ceiling moment. Custom furniture—upholstered in varying shades of green, like the colors one would see in a tropical garden—create a playful place for guests to relax and recharge between appearances. The Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 in steel and yellow gold will also be on display in the Greenroom. The Datejust was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer timepiece to achieve displaying the date via a window at the 3 o’clock mark.
