Yahoo readers weigh in on quarantined cruise ship amid coronavirus outbreak

As coronavirus diagnoses and deaths spike in China, a cruise ship remains quarantined off the coast of Japan packed with vacationers who can’t do much other than wait.

The Diamond Princess was forced to halt its journey after passengers fell ill, and it’s been confirmed that a week after the quarantine began, 175 people aboard have now also been diagnosed.

The two-week quarantine is expected to end on Feb. 19, but for those on board it can’t come soon enough.

Passenger Sarah Arana told Yahoo Finance, “Every time we get a report of more positive tests that have come back, it's a bit heartbreaking.”

Yahoo readers also weighed in on the crisis unfolding on the ship.
