MARVEL'S TV OUTPUT is hit or miss. You've got impressive swings like WandaVision and Loki, and more forgettable series like Secret Invasion and Echo (although the latter wasn't that bad). The only major release we have from the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen this year is Deadpool & Wolverine, which means it's the perfect opportunity for Marvel's TV division to shine, particularly with projects that don't necessarily feed into the major multiversal saga going on in the main cinematic timeline. Thankfully, the X-Men are here to give us a much needed escape.

X-Men: The Animated Series premiered back in 1992, and introduced kids to comic books through a fun, easy-to-digest cartoon, chronicling some of the iconic Marvel team's most notable plot arcs, and delving into each character's backstories in fun and engaging ways. Decades later, Marvel is returning to the series, picking up right where the original left off and carrying on with the new show X-Men '97.

With much of the same voice cast and the same '90s look, Marvel has already made it clear they're not trying to reinvent the wheel. They know what fans loved about the original, and want to make sure viewers both old and new know what to expect.

Much like the original show, there'll be twists and major plot arcs you won't want to miss. Whether you plan to binge the whole first season (there's already a second on the way), or want to watch week to week, here's when new episodes of X-Men '97 premiere.
