Richard Branson, the billionaire founder of Virgin, is looking to hire a senior office administrator to help look after the two offices on his private getaway Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.

It sounds like a dream job, doesn’t it?

The job post, like many advertising employment in exotic locales, warns that the job is very busy and not for everyone “despite the sunshine.” Just because people live in paradise doesn’t mean they don’t work hard.

Still, if you’ve ever dreamt of packing everything up and taking a job on a tropical island or a beachfront town, here are 10 jobs that are waiting for your resume.

Phuket, Thailand, Airport Services Agent, Qatar Airways

The island of Phuket on the Andaman Sea is a bustling tourist destination and the Phuket International Airport is the third busiest airport in Thailand, with dozens of airlines flying in and out every day. Qatar Airlines is looking for an airport services agent who will help “create a stress free environment for customers.” You will help escort passengers to other areas of the airport, including their hotel desk, the visa counter, boarding gates and lounges. The job requires a high school diploma and one year of experience working at an airport.

Maldives Islands, Waiter, Velassaru Maldives

The Valassaru Maldives is a luxury resort on the Maldives Islands, located in the Indian Ocean just southwest of Sri Lanka. The resort features private villas and bungalows, a spa, diving and snorkeling and, of course, fine dining. The position of waiter is a serious job here and they’re looking for someone who has experience working at a 5-star hotel. They offer a competitive salary and benefits, including spending your days hopping around one of the Maldives’ 26 atolls.

St. Thomas, USVI, Community Relations Manager, International Capital & Management Company

St. Thomas is the largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands and this job is located in downtown Charlotte Amalie, where on most days you can watch the cruise ships leave and depart. The position requires three or more years of managing large scale corporate events or a public relations background. Experience with partnering with education and academic institutions is a plus. The company does outreach with several different organizations on the island, including Cancer Support Virgin Islands and Jazz in the Park.

This is a six-month position with the possibility to extend for another three months, but that might be just the amount of time you need to experience your dream of living the island life. Bridgetown is the capital of Barbados, located in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean, and is just a short drive to the beach. This job will allow you to help the children of Barbados and requires five years of experience in social work.

Bondi Beach, Australia, Travel Consultant, Creative Holidays

Why not help people with their travel plans while you go on an adventure of your own Down Under? Creative Holidays has been in business for 30 years. You need experience in sales and to be willing to share your tips for travel with what the company calls its VITs (Very Important Travelers). And you’ll be working on Bondi Beach, just outside of Sydney.

This recruitment company is looking for a techie who can work as a desktop support engineer for one of its leading clients. If you can troubleshoot computer problems and know what Citrix is, then this could be a great way to put your skills to use in an exotic setting like the Cayman Islands. The pay scale is $50,000 to $60,000 a year and they’ll help you with your moving costs.

This oceanfront hotel in Maui is looking for someone to be a lobby greeter “where your warm greeting and attentive service will let our guests know they have arrived!” We’re pretty certain it includes placing leis around their necks when the enter the hotel. How fun is that?

You don’t have to be a tennis pro to apply for this job. The position is focused around “the day to day upkeep of the tennis court area.” You’ll have to empty the trash and work one day a week in the pro shop, but after work you’ll be able to enjoy all that Miami Beach has to offer, including the outrageous nightlife on South Beach.
