WooSox honor Shrewsbury girls' hockey team after Colonials claim D1 state championship
The Worcester Red Sox continued the tradition of honoring local high school sports teams at Polar Park on Wednesday, as Shrewsbury High girls' hockey coach Frank Panarelli and his players from the Division 1 state championship team were honored by throwing out the first pitch before the game.
The Colonials defeated top-seeded St. Mary's, 4-1, to capture the first state championship in school history at the TD Garden.

Earlier this season, the WooSox welcomed the North High boys' basketball team after the Polar Bears claimed the first Division 1 boys' basketball title by a Worcester school in history. North High was also honored on Monday in a visit to the Statehouse in Boston.
