Woman goes through a breakup and listens to Taylor Swift for the first time ever to cope: ‘Okay, I get it now’
What’s the best way to heal a broken heart? Well, if you ask a Swiftie, they’ll tell you to drown your sorrows in the sweet stylings of Taylor Swift. That’s exactly what one TikTok user did… for the first time ever.
Sam Ibay (@sgibay) recently posted a video of herself listening to Swift for the first time after going through a breakup. Her live reactions to hearing some of the Grammy winner’s iconic breakup songs were everything.
“So, I don’t really listen to Taylor Swift but I’ve been seeing a whole bunch of her stuff everywhere because of her new tour,” she says. “And as someone who just went through a breakup, we’re gonna do it.”
To start off her journey, Sam Googles “the best Taylor Swift breakup songs.”
The first track Sam listens to is “All You Had to Do Was Stay,” from Swift’s 1989.
Next up? The ever-soul-crushing track, “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” off of Red (Taylor’s Version).
“This song was heavy,” Sam writes. “Also 10 minutes?!”
As the video continues, Sam progressively gets more emotional. At one point, she even holds one of the plushies her ex gave her.
Sam ends her Swift journey with “Last Kiss” from Speak Now. She clutches the plushie and even sheds some tears as the song plays.
“Okay, I get it now,” she says with tears in her eyes.
“Did I just witness the birth of a swiftie in the purest way?”
Naturally, Swifties flocked to the comments to check in on the new Swiftie.
“Actually just listen to Folklore the whole album,” one Swiftie recommended.
“When the avocado showed up for emotional support, I FELT THAT,” another said.
“Did I just witness the birth of a swiftie in the purest way?” one fan asked.
