Woman confounds TikTok with hack for getting the ‘perfect’ movie theater popcorn: ‘The one true life hack’
It’s a dilemma every cinephile has faced at some point in their life: how to get the perfect movie theater popcorn.
Thankfully, TikTok has an answer. The solution comes courtesy of a user named Colleen Lepp (@colleenlepp), who shared a popcorn-making hack that now has nearly 6 million views.
It’s just the latest life hack to spread widely on the app. Recently, users have also shared tricks for sorting silverware drawers, dealing with spam callers and cleaning shower doors.
Lepp’s video, however, is more delicious than all of those hacks. Her trick shows how she uses a straw to get perfectly buttered popcorn “every time.”
“I love buttered popcorn, but I hate when the butter is only at the top,” Lepp says in her video. “So I use a plastic straw all the way down in the popcorn bucket to get the butter to the very bottom.”
Overall, TikTok users seemed highly impressed.
“Dang I wish I would’ve seen this yesterday,” one commenter wrote.
’Honesty Time’ Are these products all hype or actually worth the $$$?
“The one true life hack!” another praised.
“This is genius,” another added.
Others chimed in to say that they’d been using the popcorn hack “for years.” Some said they learned the trick from an episode of the Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Regardless of the source, going to the movies just got a little tastier.
