Woman chases down, instills 'fear of God' in man who flashed her
A woman instilled the “fear of God” in a man who pulled down his pants and flashed her while she was out on a morning run.
Aia Polansky — 33-year-old a single mother, who is also a former member of the Israeli military — was jogging around 7:30 a.m. in Cambridge, Mass., when the man approached her. According to a Massachusetts State Police news release, he “indecently exposed himself” to her, but she wasn’t going to let that go — and in a turn of events, went and tackled him to the ground instead.
In a video released by the police, Polansky is seen turning back and chasing the man. Thee department clarifies in its description of the video that while the instance of indecent exposure is not shown to protect the integrity of the investigation, the entirety of the footage has been reviewed.
The identity of the man in the video is not known.
In an interview with WCVB, Polansky said she was enjoying her morning before the man flashed her.
“He pulled down his pants once, and I didn’t react too much. As he came closer, he pulled them again — then I understood, maybe it’s not what I think it is,” she told the Boston news station. “It was not his lucky day because I decided it’s just not going to happen, and I decided to chase him down.”
She told WCVB that the man was “really, really scared” when she held him down.
Polansky took issue with the fact that people were not concerned when she called out for help. She had to let go of the man to call the police, which she says is how he ended up escaping.
“With all due respect people, what does it look like? Romantic conversation?” she said to WCVB. “I’m holding him down, yelling ‘Call the police!’ People just choose to ignore.”
According to the police, “The suspect is described as a white male with a heavy build, short dark-colored hair, a receding hairline, wearing black and grey running clothes and black running shoes with white soles.”
In the interview with WCVB, a police officer applauded her for her actions.
“Good for her. I think she put the fear of God in the guy,” he said.
Polanksy did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment but tells the news station that the man had made a mistake by targeting her — and she’s determined to track him down.
“I’m 6”1, pretty fit. Not a good victim to go after,” she said. “But I told him I’m going to get him — so I’m going to get you, darling.”
