Woman bursts into tears after noticing subtle detail on dog's fur: 'This isn't a coincidence'
A woman’s story about adopting a new dog after her old one passed away has TikTok users believing in fate and guardian angels.
On Feb. 18, TikToker @juliem717 explained to her followers how she ended up adopting her current dog, Lilly — and how she believes her late dog helped her “do the picking.”
When @juliem717’s first dog “went to heaven,” it understandably took her a while to come around to the idea of adopting another dog. Eventually, though, she decided it was time, and called a man who was rehoming 11 Labrador puppies. He said that she could have one of the puppies, but since there were 10 people in front of her to receive puppies, she wouldn’t get to decide which one was hers.

“That’s okay,” she recalled saying. “I will let my black dog in heaven do the picking for me.”
When it was finally time for @juliem717 to get her pup, she ended up going home with a yellow Lab with a black spot on her back. She asked the man selling the dogs if any others had a similar black spot, and he said no.
“My new mom cried,” @juliem717 said in the video, speaking from the perspective of her current pup Lilly. “She said the black spot is where the black dog in heaven touched me. Then black dog picked me to be with my mom.”
This moving story, which has received more than 1.5 million likes on TikTok, has left users shocked, moved and emotional.
“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” one user said. “This isn’t a coincidence.”
“Wow I have chills,” another added. “That pup was truly chosen for you.”
“That’s the strength of you and black dog’s bond,” a third wrote. “Beautiful story of love and blind faith.”
