Ezekiel Elliott's agent says a deal with Cowboys is 'very, very close'
For a Sunday game during the regular season, coaching staffs and players usually begin installing the game plan Wednesday.
With that in mind, and with the Dallas Cowboys slated to host the New York Giants, there are rumblings that Dallas and representatives for holdout running back Ezekiel Elliott are getting down to business.
Acting with a sense of urgency
A Tuesday report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen says that the Cowboys and Elliott are “acting with a sense of urgency” to finalize a deal that would mean Elliott was at practice on Wednesday and available to play on Sunday against the Giants.
Schefter and Mortensen reported that a deal “does not appear to be far off.” However, their ESPN colleague Ed Werder cited a different source and said there’s “serious work left” even as the two sides are working well together.
