William and Kate”s Body Language Shows They’re Feeling Weighed Down by the Royal Feud

From Cosmopolitan

After enduring a ton of hate since they first started dating, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to step back from the royal family to try and catch a break from it all. Since their announcement, Meghan has made a surprise visit to a women’s center in Vancouver, Canada, and Harry, Prince William and the queen all met in private to flesh out all the details of “Megxit.”

Up until today, William and Kate Middleton hadn’t made a joint appearance, but on Wednesday morning, they went to Bradford to visit “community projects” and ring some bells in city hall, as the royals do! And since they didn’t talk about Megxit, body-language expert Blanca Cobb analyzed their appearance to give some insight into what Will and Kate aren’t saying. Spoiler: Things are h-e-a-v-y.

During their appearance, Will and Kate greeted the commoners who lined the streets to see them. At different points during the outing, they both seemed to hold their hands near their stomach, which Cobb said could indicate that they’re feeling nervous. “When you’re unsettled about something, you might cover a vulnerable part of your body as if shielding yourself. What’s interesting is that William is doing the same,” she told Cosmopolitan.

Another instance of them being “mirror images of each other” lies in how their steps are in sync. In some of the photos from the event, both Will and Kate lead with their right foot, and Cobb suggests that “they’re okay as a couple.” Good for them!

But as far as their relationship with Harry and Meghan goes, here’s where things get interesting. Cobb made sure to point out how their shoulders provide insight into what’s going on behind those gilded closed palace doors. Cobb took note of their posture compared to previous engagements and explained, “It’s unusual to see William and Kate with such rounded shoulders. It could be that they’re figuratively feeling the weight or pressure of the situation with Harry and Meghan, so it’s weighing them down a bit.” She added, “I think the rounded shoulders are more pronounced at this event than at other past events.”

Sheesh. So while Will and Kate are carrying on “business as usual,” there are definitely signs everything isn’t all that peachy.
