Willow Smith is a force today.

On her new Facebook show Red Table Talk, with her mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, the 17-year-old has had some candid talks about sex. She’s been open about how difficult it was for her to deal with the blockbuster success of her song “Whip My Hair” when she was only 10. Willow’s also perfectly comfortable at an A-list event like the Met Gala.

But there was once a time when she was “terrified,” as dad Will Smith put it, before her first ballet class. He shared a heartwarming video from the event, in which Willow admits she was “freaked out” about it.

Willow later says the class ended up being “awesome.” Then, her teacher appears on camera to give her student a rave review.

The events in the clip aren’t dated, but the home video was clearly taken before Willow broke out her moves — with no inhibitions — for the “Whip My Hair” music video, in which she danced like a pro, in 2010.

Perhaps the sweetest part of the footage of the Smith’s family video comes at the end, when Will asks his daughter to give advice to her future self.

“Just do it,” young Willow says seriously, with a little smile on her face.

Good advice.
