Wichita soon will be back down to just one location of this Wichita Mexican restaurant

By this weekend, Wichita will be back down to just one Lina’s Mexican Restaurant: The one that’s operated at 3570 N. Woodlawn since 2015 will close for good at the end of business on Saturday.

The owners announced the decision on social media on Monday morning, saying that they decided not to renew their lease at the space and would turn all of their focus to the remaining Lina’s at 4910 E. Central.

The first Wichita Lina’s franchise opened in 2015 in the old Walt’s Old Type Hamburgers space at 3570 N. Woodlawn.

“We appreciate everyone’s support and thank you for your feedback these past years of operation” the post said.

Another restaurant is already slated to take over the space on Woodlawn, but the owners aren’t ready to share details just yet.

The Woodlawn location of Lina’s — a regional chain based in Omaha — was the first to open in 2015. Then, a separate owner opened the East Central Lina’s in April 2015. When she decided to give up her franchise and open her own restaurant, the short-lived El Taquero on North Broadway, the owner of the Woodlawn Lina’s took over the East Central location.

Lina’s is a fast-food Mexican restaurant that specializes in burritos, breakfast, asada fries and other Mexican dishes and has both drive-in and dine-in service.

Stay tuned for information about the restaurant taking over the Woodlawn restaurant space.
