Why you won't see Cameron Diaz acting any time soon

Despite starring in some of our favourite films (aka The Holiday and What Happens In Vegas), Cameron Diaz has said you probably won't see her acting again any time soon. Agh.
The 48-year-old recently opened up about how her personal life made her want to step away from the spotlight in order to spend more time with her family. Said family meaning her daughter, Raddix Madden, who she welcomed in January 2020 with husband Good Charlotte's Benji Madden.
The actress also said her organic wine brand, Avaline, was taking up her time. "Avaline is the only sort of day-to-day work that I’m doing other than, you know, being a wife and a mother, which has been the most… fulfilling," she said on SiriusXM’s Quarantined with Bruce show (via Just Jared).
Speaking about stepping away from the world of movies, Cameron continued, "I’m never going to say never about anything in life. I’m just not that person, So will I ever make a movie again? I’m not looking to, but will I? I don’t know. I have no idea. Maybe, never say never."
She continued, "But I couldn’t imagine like being a mum now where I’m at as a mother with my child at her first year to have to be on a movie set that takes 14 hours, 16 hours of my day away from my child. I just couldn’t. I personally feel like that wasn’t the mum that, I wouldn’t have been the mom that I am now had I chosen to do that at any other time in my life."
Fair enough! Each to their own and all that. Cameron and Benji tied the knot in 2015, and announced they had welcomed their first child together, Raddix, in secret in January 2020.
In a rare interview about their relationship, Cameron touched on how much she loved family life in April 2020. "I love being married," she said. "The best thing that's ever happened to me is finding my husband, and our partnership, and our friendship.
"I love being a mother. It's the best, best, best part of my life. I'm so grateful and so happy and it's the best thing ever and I'm so lucky to do it with Benj and we're having the best time. I'm thrilled. I can't believe it."
Sounds like she's revelling in family life. Cute!
