Why William and Kate will be moving out of Anmer Hall soon

Like everyone else in the country, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been locked down for the past almost-seven weeks. The royals decided to retreat from their London home in Kensington Palace to Anmer Hall, the property they own in Norfolk, along with their three children - seven-year-old Prince George, five-year-old Princess Charlotte, and two-year-old Prince Louis.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridges had already been at Anmer Hall - which is on the royal Sandringham Estate - for Christmas, so it made sense to stay where they were when Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced strict measures to stop the spread of coronavirus back in early January. But there might well be another relocation ahead for the family, as schools are believed to be reopening from 8 March.
Prince George is in year 3 at Thomas' school in Battersea, while younger sister Princess Charlotte is in year 1. On Monday, the Prime Minister will announce a 'roadmap' for easing out of lockdown in phases, and schools are believed to be the first thing that will be reinstated. If that is the case, it means the Cambridges will need to hot-foot it back to London in time for classrooms to reopen.

In Scotland Nicola Sturgeon announced a staggered return of for pupils, starting with the youngest first, from Monday 22 February. If Boris decides to take a similar approach for England, it means Princess Charlotte will be one of the first to go back, so William and Kate will likely be making arrangements to return to their London home, Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.
For the Duke and Duchess themselves, location is currently not a factor in their work. With COVID-19 levels being so high it's unsafe to mix outside of households, they have been carrying out their royal duties in the form of video calls from their home. If they do make the move back to London, we can expect to see some different backgrounds behind them on said calls, which is probably more exciting than it should be but there's not a lot going on right now.
Until then, however, the homeschooling continues for the royal parents. They're now well-practiced in teaching their eldest two children the curriculum, although it hasn't sounded particularly easy. Prince William and Kate Middleton previously spoke openly about the "challenges" of homeschooling their two eldest children, and how that can cause tensions between George and Charlotte.
At least the family have a new addition to distract everyone when things reach boiling point. Last year, the Cambridges welcomed a new puppy into the family before their older dog, Lupo, sadly passed away. In a sweet gesture, their puppy is actually Lupo's nephew, having been bred by Kate's brother, James Middleton. Nothing like keeping it in the family!
