Simone Ashley has broken our Sex Education-loving hearts after revealing she won't reprise the role of mean girl Olivia in season four.

Just days after Sex Education season three dropped in September 2021, Netflix announced a fourth season of the sex positive high school drama would be dropping on our screens.

And while fans assumed the likes of Gillian Anderson (who plays Jean Milburn), Asa Butterfield (Otis), Emma Mackey (Maeve) and Ncuti Gatwa (Eric) would be back for the next series, Simone Ashley has now announced Olivia will not be returning.

"No," Simone replied when This Morning hosts Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson asked her about reprising her Sex Education role. "I get asked that all the time. No, I'm a Bridgerton girl now."

Say it ain't so! Fans of the show loved watching Simone as Olivia alongside Ruby (played by Mimi Keene) and Anwar (Chaneil Kular) aka the Untouchables. But it's understandable that Simone might want to turn her attention towards Bridgerton season 3, especially with Kate Sharma being a lead character.

"We’re going to be back! Kate and Anthony are just getting started," she told Deadline. "In season two, there was a lot of push and pull between Kate and Anthony, there were complications with the family, and then they find each other toward the end. I think everything is just starting."
