Molly-Mae Hague has quit her role as creative director at Pretty Little Thing – a position with a reported six-figure salary.

Speaking to her fans in a YouTube video, the former reality TV star said: "There is actually one quite big thing that I probably should talk about. I haven't posted anything about it yet but I'm probably going to post about it when this video goes live."

"Basically a lot of people have been asking me about [my] PLT creative director [role] and how's the role going," she went on. "Everything's going incredibly with PLT, I literally have the most insane relationship with PLT they're literally my family. Still working with them, still doing collections, still doing edits, but I've actually decided to step down from my creative director role."

Explaining what's behind the move, Molly-Mae continued: "I've realised that I'm only going to get this time once with my firstborn child. I'm only going to get Bambi being four months old once. I just feel like I have had to just rearrange my life a little bit and lose some commitments I did have."

The mum-of-one described the role – which reportedly brought in £5,000,000 a year – as "a pinch-me moment and a huge moment in my career", but said this "amazing chapter" had "naturally come to an end".

"I'm a mum now, I never really gave myself a maternity leave, I got straight back into work instantly," Molly-Mae added. "There were certain areas of my life I had to reevaluate. The last thing I wanted to be was in a role I can't fulfil right now at this moment in my life."

Finally, the reality-TV-star-turned-business-mogul emphasised that there's no bad blood between herself and the brand. "There is absolutely no drama, there is no tea, there is nothing that's gone on," she said. "I will never not be grateful to that business for everything they've done for my career, just everything they've done for me."

Best of luck, Molly-Mae!
