Here’s Why Kaitlyn Bristowe Didn’t Want to Date Anyone from the ‘Bachelor’ Franchise

Kaitlyn Bristowe just got candid about her relationship with Jason Tartick, revealing she didn’t think she’d end up with someone from Bachelor Nation.

The former Bachelorette, 34, appeared on a recent podcast episode of Your Best Life, where she chatted with host Anna Victoria about whether it’s actually possible to find love on The Bachelor. Although she and Tartick are a successful match, Bristowe doesn’t see the show’s format working for every couple.

“The most important thing in a relationship is a foundation,” she said. “And unfortunately, starting your foundation on a reality show—where you’re dating a bunch of other guys and also taking those relationships as far as they can possibly go before you get engaged—is like the crappiest way to start a relationship.”

Bristowe starred on season 11 of The Bachelorette and chose Shawn Booth in the finale. The couple broke off their engagement a few years later, and while Bristowe tried to steer clear of Bachelor Nation, she eventually met Tartick through mutual friends.

“I was jaded from Bachelor relationships, so I was like, ‘I’m not going to go after a Bachelor guy.’ But he’s so incredible that that was the only thing I could find wrong with him: that he was on the Bachelor show.”

In addition to her Bachelorette affiliation, she recently joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars season 29. Not to mention, Kaitlyn Bristowe’s song, “If I’m Being Honest,” is now available on all streaming platforms.

Guess the old saying is true: There are plenty of fish in the sea Bachelor franchise.
