Jennifer Lopez started awards season as a favorite to get a Supporting Actress Oscars nomination for her role in Hustlers since she was nominated in the category at the Golden Globes, Critics' Choice Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. But the Academy chose not the recognize her work, and J.Lo chose not to give the Oscars the present of her presence. The actress and her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, were not seen on the red carpet or at the event.

J.Lo was not tapped as a presenter either, giving her no reason to spend her night at the awards show that snubbed her.

Last weekend, Lopez performed with Shakira in the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and some people read her choice to include a pole dance in the performance as her response to the Academy not nominating her or Hustlers for anything.

Lopez could still come out at one of the Oscars' after parties with Rodriguez. The couple did attend the Oscars and the Vanity Fair Oscars after party last year.

Lopez never spoke explicitly about how she felt when Hustlers wasn't included in Oscars nominations. But she did share a behind-the-scenes video from her Super Bowl performance where she reflected on what it meant to her to sing with her 11-year-old daughter, Emme.

"These moments were captured just minutes before we hit the stage last night," she captioned the video. "All I want my girls, the little girls on stage with me and all over the world to know is how to use their voices and be proud of everything they are. We are proud to recognize that all of us together are what makes this beautiful country truly great."
