Why Britney Fans Think She and Sam Are Already Married

Britney Spears and fiancé Sam Asghari sent fans wild last night over the suggestion that they're already married. The pair announced their engagement two months ago, ahead of Britney's final conservatorship hearing, which saw her freed after 13-years. Now, fans think the couple have secretly tied the knot, after Sam referred to the singer as his "wife" in an Instagram post.
To celebrate his fiancé's 40th birthday, which is today for those of you who don't know, Sam took to his socials to share a sweet message. Alongside a series of photos of the pair sharing a romantic moment, he wrote: "I call you Lioness because I admire your relentless strength, I’m inspired by your beautiful heart, I celebrate your smile that lights up my world. Everyday is your birthday my queen. Happy 1st birthday to my wife."
Understandably, that last part caused quite a stir amongst excited fans, who flocked to the comments section. "Wife???? Omg" said one follower, with another writing "ICONIC 🙌❤️ So happy for you both." A third Instagram user commented: "Wife??? When??? Congratulations!!!"
Despite the speculation, neither of the two have confirmed – or denied – whether they're officially married. Although, in a post on her own socials, the "Toxic" singer referred to Sam as her fiancé, not husband. "Oh the precious joy today!!! Me and my fiancé are so excited to be going away," she told her 37.1 million followers.
To celebrate her 40th birthday, Britney and Sam are heading to Mexico, marking the first time the singer has been allowed to leave the US since her conservatorship began.
