Why Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Are Skipping the 2020 SAG Awards

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds gave the public and paparazzi a generous look at their date style in New York City this week. But they aren't doing any award show red carpet this weekend in Los Angeles. The A-list couple opted to not attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards tonight in California. Neither is nominated for any project, and they weren't tapped to present either. Altogether, that gives the acting couple no real reason to fly across the country to attend the ceremony tonight. They've never attended the SAG Awards before.

The two were not at the Golden Globes this year or the Critics' Choice Awards. Lively and Reynolds don't have an Oscars nomination, so don't count on them being there either. There is a chance they could attend if one is asked to present or they choose to attend one of the many after parties that night. But neither Lively nor Reynolds have hinted that's a possibility on their social media.

Reynolds and Lively live in New York, where they're raising their three daughters. They have a house in Bedford, New York—just north of New York City—and an apartment in TriBeCa. Last weekend, they were seen hanging out with another former Oscars nominee, Bradley Cooper, and his daughter Lea de Seine in Manhattan. Lively and Reynolds brought their daughters for a play date.

Lively gave her fans a rare look at one of Reynolds' dates at the end of December. She shared photos of the two at the New York City Museum of Ice Cream on her Instagram grid. "Now I get why everyone screams 🍦 @museumoficecream," Lively wrote.
