Bella Hadid and The Weeknd's renewed romance is over, E! is reporting. A source told the outlet that "Bella and Abel have split."

Blame it on "distance" partly, the source added. "They are in different places right now, physically and mentally. Bella is prepping for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut." The source explained that their traveling schedules didn't quite align, and the separation created friction. "They have been arguing a lot recently," the source said. "[They] haven't spent quality time together in months."

Hope isn't lost for them, the source said. "They hope to get back together at one point but for now are focusing on themselves and their projects."

Hadid and The Weeknd first dated for a year and a half before ending their relationship in November 2016. Then, The Weeknd dated Selena Gomez for 10 months, from January 2017 to October 2017. He and Hadid started hanging again that November. They would fully rekindle their relationship in July 2018.

The two moved in together in October 2018 (Hadid moved into The Weeknd's New York City condo), and Us Weekly reported in November that the two were close to getting engaged. "A proposal is on the horizon," a source told the outlet at the time, noting Hadid and The Weeknd are "madly in love with each other."

The two have posted pretty minimally about their relationship lately. Hadid shared a birthday tribute to him in February and a shot of them traveling together in March.
