Who's that Girl? Ruth Bell is Our Model of the Moment
It’s only the second day of Milan Fashion Week and model Ruth Bell is already owning the runway. I noticed her blond buzz cut at the Gucci show, where she modeled a yellow silk suit, oversized nerd glasses and a half- sexy scowl. I then spotted the British beauty (she has a twin sister May— also a model) at MaxMara where she was wrapped in an oversized coat and her eyes were slashed with bright red eyeshadow as if she was some sort of a futuristic street urchin. (Clearly the mastermind of Carine Roitfield, who styles the Max Mara show and likes to inject a little punk rock into the classic label.) At Pucci, she wore scuba-style glasses and a sheer white look— but this is no angel. Bell looks like this gorgeous alien— a cross between David Bowie in “The Man Who Fell to Earth,“ Charlize Theron in "Mad Max: Fury Road” and the ‘90s model Eva Salvail, who after shaving her head became a favorite of Jean Paul Gaultier. Bell recently did away her own innocent blond locks and it seems to be her calling card. So where will she land next? Will she be a Versace vixen or a Chanel Bride?
