Where Y’at this weekend: Wine Tasting, French Quarter, Pokémon Championships, Creole Tomato Fest

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Fine wines, delicious Creole Tomatoes and Pokémon action are all part of the entertaining events taking place in the Crescent City.

Here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks!

  • First, don’t miss out on one of the New Orleans’ most acclaimed culinary events. The New Orleans Wine and Food Experience celebrates chefs and wines from around the globe. Indulge in a weekend of wine dinners, Saturday’s Grand Tasting and Sunday’s grand finale: “Burlesque, Bubbly & Brunch.”

  • Speaking of wines, Orleans Grapevine Wine Bar and Bistro in the French Quarter has one of the largest selections of wine by the glass in town. If you’re looking for a spot for a special date night, enjoy such specialties as their black Angus house filet…wrapped in bacon and served with a blue cheese sauce.

  • For those who love all things Pokémon, the 2024 Pokémon North American International Championships starts Friday at the Convention Center. Attendees can trade Pokémon cards, play the video games, embark on a Pokémon GO journey and win prizes.

  • Finally, June in Louisiana means juicy, Creole tomatoes. Head to the French Market on Saturday and Sunday for the 38th annual Creole Tomato Festival, presented by Rouses Market. There’ll be live music, food booths featuring dishes made with Creole tomatoes, family-fun activities and more.
