Where do the wealthiest people in the Atlanta metro area live?

Money’s tight thanks to inflation, but not all parts of the Atlanta area feels it the same way.

Some counties have higher earnings than others, as far as annual salaries and median incomes go.

Using data from the United States Census Bureau, here’s a look at the larger Atlanta metro area and which counties are home to higher earners.

In the heart of the area, the top earning county overall, by median income, is Forsyth County.

Workers in Forsyth earn an average of $120,999 in 2021 dollars, according to the U.S. Census.

The closest to following the Atlanta area is Oconee County, where workers make around $106,000 on average.

Overall, here are the top five earning counties in north Georgia:
