Last night, I opened up Instagram for my usual pre-bedtime social media scroll and saw Kim Kardashian doing what she does best – turning out looks. She posed inside her massive, sterile closet after what appeared to be another round of outfit fittings.

Normally, in one of these pics, the (now former) reality TV star would be surrounded by couture brands I couldn't even afford in my daydreams. But this time, Kimmy was toting the exact $50 mini bag I've had saved to my "Buy Me" IG folder for weeks.

The affordable ESR Mini Tote hails from designer Brandon Blackwood and in recent weeks, has gained major momentum in the fashion industry. With big-name influencers like Kelly Augustine toting the minimalistic canvas design, its gleaming call to "END SYSTEMIC RACISM" has been flashing across my feed nonstop.

The bag doesn't just boast a social justice catchphrase, however, it actually does the work to achieve it. With each purchase, a portion of proceeds are donated towards funding the pro bono legal assistance provided by the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights. The non-profit aims to achieve equal justice through the rule of law, with particular focus on the inequities faced by African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities.

On the Brandon Blackwood website, the designer explains how the bag came to be.

"With all that is going on in the world/ constantly seeing case after case of racial injustice and systemic oppression… I wanted to create an item that was functional / practical / and made a statement," he wrote.

Though anything touched by the Kardashian family generally sells out in minutes, the ESR Mini Tote is still available for pre-order. Buy yours now and receive it end of September.
