We're back in the Arconia building, baby! Only Murders in the Building has returned for its third season, which means only one thing - the three OG characters, Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short) have got yet another murder on their hands they're trying to solve. This time, the victim is acting star Ben Glenroy, played by none other than Paul Rudd.

In terms of its new castings, the latest series has been pretty fortunate - the show also managed to scoop the icon that is Meryl Streep in a supporting role. But while fans get to know the newest characters and settle into the available episodes of comedic murder mystery, some are questioning where another big name from season two has gone.

In case you were wondering, yep, we're talking about supermodel Cara Delevingne, who joined the cast in series two as Mabel's love interest and murder suspect. During the season finale, the two were seen in Mabel's apartment painting over her Arconia mural after shifting their romantic relationship firmly back into friendship.

Fast forward to series three and it's the year after, and viewers are first focused on Charles' Broadway return. While Mabel is spotted amongst the theatregoers there to support him, there is no Alice by her side. And so far, there's been no mention of Alice or her relationship with Mabel, either. So, where is she and what happened to her?

To address this, series co-creator John Hoffman spoke about Cara's character and whether she'll be returning for series three. While chatting about the one-year leap, he revealed the show has experienced "a bit of a reset."

"We'll have the audience play catchup and ask what's going on with all of them, and what have they been up to without a murder to solve," he told TVLine.

"Each character will have had their own specific journey in that year, and Mabel's journey is probably the most unexpected in certain ways because Charles and Oliver have been doing the play. Her world has moved forward."

He then added that it's "all based on where we want Mabel to go that determines which connections hold and who we will see in season three." Outlining that her relationship with Alice ended in "a rather sweet way, with the beginning of a reparation in that friendship," he explained that there were no plans to aim "towards any more of a love relationship."

Well, there you have it. With Mabel and Alice's romantic relationship now a firm no, it looks as though series three will focus on the Arconia building resident moving on with her life in a different direction...
