On Tuesday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, cohost Pat Sajak asked contestant Laura Trammell to spin the bonus wheel. Little did everyone know at the time that she was about to make history.

With 10 seconds on the clock and $23,690 already in her pocket, Laura focused all her attention on the puzzle board. Almost immediately, she figured out the phrase, “I caught a glimpse.”

“That’s it, she caught a glimpse, she caught a glimpse of her new home,” Pat said. He then showed the envelope he was holding. In a historic Wheel of Fortune moment, Laura became the first person ever to win a new home on the show. The house Laura won is valued at $375,000 in Latitude Margaritaville, a retirement community in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“This is just nuts,” Pat added. He and his fellow cohost Vanna White later congratulated Laura again. When asked how she was feeling, the contestant was still in awe of her prize, made possible through a partnership with Minto Communities and Margaritaville for “Home Sweet Home” week.

“I’m beyond excited,” she said. “I’m still in shock. I still can’t believe it just happened.”

Wheel of Fortune fans watching from home couldn’t contain their excitement either. A three-minute YouTube video highlighted the incredible accomplishment, and many took to the comments section to celebrate with Laura.

“Congratulations. I literally screamed on the top of my lungs when she won a home 🏡. Enjoy your new place,” one person said. “Very exciting episode!! Congrats Laura 🎉🍾🎉🍾,” another added. “A house as a prize in Wheel of Fortune? Anything new can happen in the history of the show,” a different follower said. “Wow what a win, and I believe this is the first time the confetti [was] released for something other than a $100,000/$1,000,000 winner. This was very exciting to see,” another fan said.

In total, Laura earned $398,690 in cash and prizes, including a trip to the Margaritaville Vacation Club in St. Thomas.
